Apparently we are worthy of a train station’s trust :) I am curious of the penalty. An interesting experience taking a train. If you buy your tickets ahead of time you get assigned seats, the rest of the people stand. There are still lots of people standing. It is amazing to see how many on a 4 hour train ride. The rule is if a seat is empty, sit in it until someone with a seat ticket shows up, then demurely leave the seat for the rightful owner. No one gets mad, no one argues. If you are lucky, the seat owner might have missed his train and you can keep your seat. I did see train security but he wasn’t checking tickets. Overall the seats were comfortable enough and the ride was relatively uneventful. We didn’t bother checking out the ‘cafe car’ as we brought our own snacks.
