Construction in Korea
Monday, February 6th, 2012It is interesting to see how different countries build and destroy their structures. The standards and methods are different here. The biggest thing that I have seen is the management of dust generated by the tearing down of buildings.

Here you see a excavator with a jackhammer on the end breaking up the floor it is on. I should mention that you are looking at the second floor of a building. I am curious as to how it got up there but I digress. You will also see two guys spraying water on the process. This is a rather simple and novel way to manage dust from getting into surrounding areas.

You might be tempted to see this as a new building but in fact, it is an old one being torn down.
Then I saw this also one day:

Don’t know what they were for but at a guess, bars waiting to be smelted into some for? Looks safe enough to transport right?
