Being the helpful geek in Korea

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

So, being the helpful geek that I am, I saw an opportunity to help a Korean lady who had taken a picture of the subway schedule.  I figured she had a smartphone and knew of an awesome app (called Jihachul) so I decided to try and convey this to her.  I really couldn’t say much but a few broken words but showed her the app on my Galaxy Tab and showed her the time table.  It seems she didn’t realize thay she had a time table on her own app.  Mission accomplished!

Seoul Train Station.  We have a long weekend here so Bharati are going to a city called Daegu.  It is a 4hr train ride.  We missed our first booked train, we rescheduled and only paid 12,000 won(about $10) more for the both of us.  A more detailed post and album will show up later.

Taking a bus can be a hit and miss completely dependent on the ride of the bus and the skills of the drive.  Both can var widely.  My first observation is that there are few automatic transmission buses.  So this os where the skill of the driver plays a significant role in the quality of ride, nit to mention my accuracy of tuping while entering this posr!

My Travel Wishlist!

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

As I am about to embark to Korea for a few years, I find myself thinking more and more about travelling. I have always loved to do so. I have taken vacation where all I did was drive. I put 2000 miles on a 72 Dart one year. That was fun!

So I’ll be adding to this post some of the cool places I’d like to see.

This is one that I just saw tonight! While I cannot stand wintertime really, a place like this is simply incredible!
